In light of yesterday's events I decided to think back over all the previous conflicts and look for a recurring theme. And looking over everything that's happened, I've come to the conclusion that the force should be a banner, but it's quite the opposite at this point.
A group like the Kanohi Force is supposed to bring fans together and make things more enjoyable. It should make things less restricted, despite the organizations rules: fans now have someone else to chat with, they can start collaboration projects, and a lot more. Basically clubs like this should be a door into a new world.
Unfortunately with the Kanohi Force, the opposite is in effect. Members who want to write stories are under a set of canon rules, and anything the leaders don't find agreeable is immediately undone. I will admit, having a canon is completely admirable, but again, it is supposed to tie the story together and not restrict it. Any attempt at a new project - I cite Tahu's podcast - is completely taken over by the supposed "authorities" who need to "monitor" every action.
Again, this makes no sense. Clubs give people more freedom, not less. If I were to join a DC Comics fan club, I could also go start a Marvel Comics fan club without the head of the DC club stepping in and taking over.
I repeat myself, but clubs are there to make things better. Nearly all conflict in the force has been created because a leader - usually Ghidora - has stepped out of line. This is why the Krana Force revolted, this is why Tahu got mad - the leaders are supposed to lead us, not control us. Heading a club involves helping people, and bringing them together, not seizing every project on the pretense that it needs to be approved.
So to Ghidora, and Arzaki, and Dallior and whoever else supports them - what do you want the Kanohi Force to be? A select few running dozens into the ground, or an actual club that supports its members and gives them freedom? Because we aren't here for trouble. We're here because we thought we were joining a fan club.
